ONCE TOO MANY TIMES
Ray just couldn’t work it out. When had their lives together started to unravel? Where had it all gone so wrong, and why so soon?
The first chapter of ‘Once Too Many Times’ juggles with the many uncertainties in the life of one of the story’s main characters. His simmering irritation and anger threaten to consume him as the pressure steadily builds. What should he do? If he acts rashly he may expose the hidden truths of the past. If he does nothing he risks everything he has so painstakingly achieved. If she is becoming suspicious of his motives, then why? What does she know, and who has she been talking to?
A head shot! Clean, precise, clinical, so much so that DCI Lehrer at first assumed a professional job. But surely not? The dead man’s background could not have appeared more mundane. Was this a domestic rift which had spiralled out of control? His investigation quickly revealed a spiteful, abrasive character who had perhaps rubbed up too many folk the wrong way. Could a list of credible suspects actually get any longer?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The author and his wife live in rural Suffolk, England. Their adult children are dispersed about the globe offering handy stop-overs for their international travels. In the last couple of years they have enjoyed two lengthy trips to Australia and Asia, a visit to the jungles of Belize in Central America, and a snow-bound week in the French Alps for some great skiing. In addition, he simply couldn’t omit mention of a fabulous week in early April in Northumberland, the county of his birth, and still one of the most unspoiled corners of the great English countryside.
Next on the itinerary is Canada, and then a two-part trip to safari in South Africa followed by a week in the beautiful island of Mauritius, which Oliver hasn’t visited since 1979!
